Uzbekistan Airways has proudly inaugurated its first direct flight from Tashkent to Lahore. The inaugural flight touched down at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore at 9 am on November 29, 2024.
It received a warm welcome with a Water Salute and was greeted by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtayev, along with local business leaders and members of the community.
This new direct flight route is anticipated to enhance economic, cultural, and tourism connections between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The flight was fully booked, underscoring the significance and demand for this route. This initiative helps to align with the vision of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and is a result of collaborative efforts between the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan and the Ministry of Transport.
The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and various chambers of commerce have praised this development as a crucial step towards boosting bilateral economic cooperation.
The direct flight is expected to facilitate business and trade activities, as well as encourage tourism and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
