The University of Karachi (KU) is set to introduce a four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) degree program in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This initiative, led by the Department of Computer Science, aims to provide students with the latest knowledge in the fast-evolving field of AI. The proposal for the AI program is on the agenda for approval at the upcoming Academic Council meeting, which will take place on December 3, 2024, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi.
Both the Board of Faculty (Faculty of Science) and the Board of Studies in the Department of Computer Science have expressed their support for the program. The AI curriculum has been developed in alignment with the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) guidelines.
If it receives approval, admissions will open for the next academic year 2025. The AI curriculum has been crafted following the guidelines set by the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC).
