Sri Lanka A Tour Pakistan Postponed

The Sri Lanka A team’s tour of Pakistan has been put on hold due to ongoing political protests in Islamabad.

The protests, led by supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, have caused significant disruptions, prompting the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to postpone the last two 50-over matches of the series.

These matches were scheduled to take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on November 27 and 29. The PCB, in consultation with Sri Lanka Cricket, decided to delay the games due to the “political activity” in the federal capital.

The protests have led to road blockages and heightened security measures, making it challenging to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the matches.

The PCB and Sri Lanka Cricket will work together to finalize new dates for the postponed matches. The series had seen Pakistan Shaheens leading, having won the first 50-over match by 108 runs and the preceding two-match first-class series 1-0
