The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will introduce new currency notes in 2025. The central bank is also working on launching a digital currency in the future. The SBP is building its technological and regulatory capabilities to support this initiative. The introduction of new currency notes and the potential launch of digital currency are part of the SBP’s efforts to modernize Pakistan’s financial system and enhance the integrity of its currency.
