Punjab is starting a new E-Taxi service in Lahore. This service is inspired by China’s electric taxi system and aims to provide affordable and eco-friendly transportation. The E-Taxi service will operate 24/7 in all major cities, starting with Lahore and nearby areas.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan to start this project. The Punjab Transport Department is working on it and has talked to several electric vehicle manufacturers. Companies like Deewan Group and National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) are expected to join the E-Taxi initiative.
The E-Taxi service will offer a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional taxis. It will help reduce traffic congestion, smog, and pollution in the city. In addition to the E-Taxi service, the Punjab government plans to introduce electric buses in Faisalabad and Bahawalpur as part of its Green Transport Plan.
This new service is part of the government’s efforts to promote sustainable urban mobility and improve the transport infrastructure in Punjab. The introduction of E-Taxis is expected to benefit millions of residents by providing a reliable and eco-friendly mode of transportation
