Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded the resignation of the government in light of the recent events in Islamabad.
He criticized the government’s approach to the protests at D-Chowk, asserting that the situation was poorly managed and that the government should step down due to the unrest.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman also dismissed the idea of imposing the Governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, further, he emphasized that the current conditions are not favorable for such a step. He condemned the treatment of PTI workers during the protests and voiced his opposition to banning any political party.
Furthermore, he pointed out the delays in enacting constitutional amendments, particularly the president’s pending signature on the clause regarding religious seminaries.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional amendments and raised concerns about the legitimacy of the last general elections, claiming they were orchestrated against the will of the public.
