Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic” project to improve healthcare in the province. This project will upgrade 150 health centers across Punjab into modern clinics with advanced technology. These clinics will offer healthcare services similar to top private hospitals, and everything from registration to treatment will be managed digitally.
At the launch event, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz gave appointment letters to doctors who will be part of this project. She stressed the importance of doctors’ dedication to serving patients and announced plans to increase the annual fund for dialysis patients from Rs. 700,000 to Rs. 1 million. She also mentioned plans to introduce motorcycle mini-clinics, organ transplant projects, and home delivery services for insulin to Type 1 diabetes patients.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted the introduction of MRI services in district hospitals through a public-private partnership. Agreements have been signed to start MRI scanning services in Sheikhupura and Bahawalnagar, with a project cost of Rs. 399.2 million. The Chief Minister expressed her commitment to improving the healthcare system and addressing challenges like medicine theft and the shortage of nurses.
