Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has shown strong support for hosting the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. During a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the Prime Minister praised Naqvi’s firm stance on the tournament. He emphasized that Pakistan’s reputation is a top priority and that Naqvi’s position represents the voice of 240 million Pakistanis.
The PCB Chairman assured the Prime Minister that all necessary preparations are underway to host the tournament successfully. Despite challenges, including the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) refusal to send its team to Pakistan, the PCB remains determined to hold the event in Pakistan.
