In a major announcement, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a new initiative to support students. This initiative includes scholarships, free electric bikes, and interest-free student loans.

  1. Scholarships: The Honhar Scholarship Program will provide 50,000 merit-based scholarships to talented students from remote areas. This program aims to promote higher education and ensure that deserving students have access to quality education.
  2. Free Electric Bikes: Maryam Nawaz announced that 100,000 free electric bikes will be distributed to students. This initiative is intended to support education and mobility, making it easier for students to commute to their educational institutions.
  3. Interest-Free Loans: An interest-free loan scheme has been introduced, allowing students to access up to Rs 30 million for their startups and businesses. This initiative aims to foster entrepreneurship among the youth and enable them to secure their futures.

During the announcement ceremony at Government College University Sialkot, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the transparency and merit-based selection of the scholarship program. She highlighted that not a single scholarship has been given on recommendation, but purely on merit. She also expressed her dedication to youth empowerment, stating that 65% of Pakistan’s population consists of young people.

Maryam Nawaz’s interaction with students and her commitment to education left a lasting impression. She encouraged parents to trust and believe in their daughters, who will make them immensely proud. The Chief Minister also highlighted improvements in economic indicators, inflation reduction, and the government’s commitment to rebuilding Pakistan’s economy.
