Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the “Dhee Rani Program” in Lahore. This initiative aims to support underprivileged families by helping them with the expenses of their daughters’ weddings. The program was inaugurated with a mass wedding ceremony for 51 couples, including five Christian brides and grooms.

The “Dhee Rani Program” is designed to assist poor parents in fulfilling their obligation of marrying off their daughters in a dignified manner. The Punjab government has allocated one billion rupees for this program, and in the first phase, three thousand wedding ceremonies will be conducted.

During the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz extended her congratulations to the newlyweds and their families, offering heartfelt prayers for their future happiness. She expressed her joy in attending the wedding of these “sons and daughters” and shared her emotions, saying it was a touching experience for her.

As part of the program, the newlyweds were presented with essential household items such as mattresses, dinner sets, cooking utensils, and other necessities. Additionally, each couple received a “Dhee Rani Greeting Card,” which granted them a monetary gift of Rs100,000.

The “Dhee Rani Program” aims to alleviate the financial burden of marriage expenses for underprivileged families while promoting social welfare and inclusivity. Maryam Nawaz emphasized the significance of the program in fostering a supportive and caring society
